Insolvency

WATCH: Cross-border insolvency in practice – a post-Brexit webinar

Wednesday 10 March 2021

Online, Zoom
1.0 CPD

How does European cross-border insolvency work in the UK now? Tell us what your questions are!

Chris Laughton of accountancy firm Mercer & Hole hosts a discussion with Wilberforce barristers Clare Stanley QC, Daniel Lewis, Rachael Earle and Jamie Holmes. They use your questions to focus on practical considerations arising in cross-border insolvencies and on the position now that the UK is outside the EU.

The framework includes:

  • Using the Insolvency Act 1986 outside the UK
  • The EU Insolvency Regulation as retained in the UK
  • How do the Cross-Border Insolvency Regulations 2006 help?
  • Section 426 of the Insolvency Act 1986
  • Competition from the EU member states for insolvencies

Most importantly, the panel answer your questions. Whatever your concerns, from COMI (is it still a thing?) to cooperation (can we expect it?).

If you have any questions, please email seminars@wilberforce.co.uk
