WATCH: Pensions Breakfast Briefing – Not all gloom and doom: how the courts have helped rather than hindered the correction of pension mistakes

Thursday 26 May 2022
8.30am - 9.30am
Wilberforce Chambers, Lincoln's Inn, London, WC2A 3QP
Free to attend | 1.0 CPD

The history of the correction of pension scheme mistakes is littered with attempts to find practical and cost-effective solutions, which the courts have generally rejected. Accordingly, Paul’s book considers what practical drafting steps may be taken in advance to facilitate the correction of mistakes if they should subsequently occur. However, there have been instances where the courts have come to the assistance of trustees and employers seeking to correct pensions errors. Paul and Jenny will look at some of these success stories referred to in the book, and consider whether and how they may usefully be employed in the future.

Join Paul Newman KC and Jennifer Seaman, specialist pensions barristers at Wilberforce Chambers as they host this breakfast briefing.

This session will be hosted from 8:30pm at Wilberforce Chambers and online via Zoom.
