Pensions Lecture – Scheme Funding Issues

Tuesday 2 June 2015
6.30pm - 7.30pm
The Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1PL
£70 + VAT | 1.0 CPD

Wilberforce Chambers invites you to a series of lectures by senior practitioners on technical topics of particular interest to non-contentious pensions lawyers. Wilberforce Chambers has a well-established reputation in the field of pensions law, due in large part to the late Edward Nugee QC, to whose memory these lectures are dedicated. The fields to be covered are section 75, South West Trains agreements, TUPE transfers and pensions flexibility and the barristers speaking have been heavily involved in advising and litigating in these areas, which enables them to share valuable insights into the more difficult issues which arise in practice.

The first lecture in our series is:

Scheme Funding Issues

  • The interaction of scheme rules and the statutory funding regime as regards non–statutory employers and non–statutory funding targets, and an analysis of paragraph 9 of Schedule 2 of the Scheme Funding Regulations.
  • Rights to income (contributions from statutory and non-statutory employers, and third party guarantees)
as scheme assets and the impact on section 75 debts
  • Contingent assets and section 75 debt.

Speakers:

Michael Tennet QC and James Walmsley

Cost:
£70 + VAT = £84.00 per lecture, or a discounted rate of £250 + VAT = £300 for all four lectures.
